How To Use Apple’s iPad in Real Estate
Transcript of Video:
Now I came across this through a good friend, Cliff Stevenson. We were sitting there having lunch and collaborating ideas and figuring things out and we kind of came up with this. This is a great way, a simple way, and easy way to sign documents and use the iPad as a tablet in some ways.
So, go to Notarize. So I’m going to do a real quick walk-through of this. So in Notarize, you can sit there and go in here and go import PDF. So, I have taken all of our purchase contracts, all the listing contracts, all the contracts that I could possibly need that I have and I have them in PDF form. So I just download them off – for us, it’s the Alberta Real Estate Association, so AREA website–downloaded the PDF forms and brought them in and have them saved in my Dropbox account.
So now when I have them in my Dropbox account, I can import a PDF from my Dropbox account which would look like this. So you open this up. I can go on to where exactly I need to. So we’ll go on to real estate forms, and in here I can go to purchase forms. So I have all of the real estate purchase forms that I would need and basically I would open that up. So I’ve already downloaded it and I was going to show you a real quick version of it. So here, this is what I just downloaded about 30 seconds ago. Well, not 30 seconds ago but here it is. So on the real estate contract, we can sit there and we can flip through, we can see the whole contract, that kind of thing. So we can also fill in text. So if we zoom in here or remove that, zoom in here, you know, we can put in the full name. So you put Joe Seller. We can put in – let’s put in…we’ll put in Jane Seller. So, I mean, that’s a little bit off there but we can make that easy. Oh. There you go. So you move that to where it needs to fit, you know, so now we got Jane and Joe Seller in the contract.
Now, the cool thing with this is we can kind of scroll through, you can fill this all out on here, you can do it on your computer with a couple of different programs, and the best part is you can have everyone sign the document right on the iPad. So again, you can zoom in. So I just did a quick signature there before, but again I’ll zoom my signature, we can just sign it. It’s not really my signature; it’s really scratch, but – so you can sign that.
And then the cool thing, the great thing is then you hit “Share.” So now you hit the “Share” button and you go share all pages and you can go e-mail, you want to share by e-mail or you can share via Dropbox. So let’s go–or via e-mail, sorry. So we can sit there and it’ll create this into a full PDF document that’s been signed, that has been changed, altered, all that kind of stuff. Now, in here we have the actual e-mail so now it turns it into a PDF right here, and then you can send that off and that’s it, like it’s very, very, very simple.
Another cool thing that I use Notarize for is for showings. So I will take all of my showings that I’m going to do in a day and I will scan all of the listing contracts or the listings in, and in that way when the agent calls to approve the showing, I can sit there and I can say, “Oh, okay. This agent said, ‘Yes, go ahead and show,’ or, ‘Good to go on that one.’” I can sit there and write on there when I’m with a client if there’s some kind of concern, I can sit there highlight, I can say, “You know what? They’re not sure about this fully finished basement; we got to check into that.” I can make notes on the go. I can sit – save this whole document on my computer through Dropbox, so a bunch of things like that. So, some very cool ways that you can use Notarize on the iPad. So if you have any questions, you might e-mail me at jared@tcgroup.ca or you can just us give us a phone call at 403-366-3130 and make it a wonderful day and enjoy your iPad. See you later.
